My number two turns two!

My youngest is two years old today! Took a quick ride down to Laguna Beach after work for some photos and, like his big brother, he’s getting really good at posing for dad. I guess that comes with having a camera pointed at you your whole life.
The past two years have been some of the most challenging and the most rewarding.  Josh is the complete opposite in every way to his big brother. Eats anything and everything. Can’t sit still for longer than ten seconds. I mean seriously, this kid NEVER stops moving. He wakes up and starts going and doesn’t stop till he can’t keep his eyes open any longer. Stubborn, ornery, loud, smasher of toys, thrower of food, and destroyer of sleep. I couldn’t love him more.  Happy birthday J bear!

Laguna Sunsets

The main reason I can no longer do mini shoots. How am I supposed to stop taking photos when I have such a great location and subjects!? It’s always a gamble with beach photos and sunsets. A lot of times it can be overcast and cold. Well Southern California cold. But there are times when the lighting and everything just seems to come together. I absolutely love those moments when I’m shooting and I am immediately excited to see the final product when I get home. Got to shoot a wonderful family with two little boys who were awesomely adventurous and smiley (thanks to ice cream bribes). It’s evenings like these that make me realize why it costs so damn much to live where we live.

Eldridge family

I absolutely love and feel so honored to be a part of these Eldridge family memories through the years: from maternity shoots to family sessions with the now two year old Sofia (who is more adorable than ever!). First we took some shots at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington beach, which is where they had their wedding photos done. And it happened to be their anniversary the day before. Then a few days later we took a drive down to Laguna Beach and had a great time walking Heisler Park and down to the water to get our feet wet. It’s days like this that make it so hard for me to put my camera away and head home. Really looking forward to what the future holds for me, and where this adventure in photography will lead me in years to come!
